Perth Concrete CalculatorSlab Volume in Seconds

Punch in your slab dimensions and get the concrete volume in cubic metres, plus a rough bag count for small pours. When you need the real numbers priced off your plans, send them through and we will take it from there.

Slab Dimensions

Most concreters allow 5 to 10 percent for spillage, uneven subgrade and over-dig.

Enter your slab length, width and thickness to see the estimated concrete volume.

What the Volume Tells You, and What It Does Not

The calculator is a quick sanity check for ordering concrete. It is not a full estimate. Here is where the volume helps, and where a proper takeoff earns its keep.

Ordering Concrete

Volume in cubic metres is exactly what a batching plant needs to load your truck. Add the waste allowance so you are not caught short mid-pour.

What It Leaves Out

Reinforcement, mesh, formwork, sand pad, pump hire, cartage, prep and labour all sit outside a raw volume number. That is the gap a real takeoff closes.

Bags or Truck

Under about a cubic metre, bagged pre-mix is fine. Past that, ordered concrete is cheaper, faster and gives you a consistent mix across the whole slab.

The Volume Is the Easy Part

Length by width by depth is arithmetic. What actually decides whether a slab makes money is everything sitting around that number, the sand pad, the mesh and bar, the formwork, the pump, the cartage and the crew hours.

Concrete Calculator Questions

Multiply the slab length by the width by the thickness, all in metres, to get the volume in cubic metres. A 100mm thick slab uses 0.1 in that sum. Add 5 to 10 percent for waste, spillage and an uneven subgrade.

A 20kg bag of pre-mix concrete yields roughly 0.009 cubic metres, so you get about 110 bags to a cubic metre. Once you are past about one cubic metre it is cheaper and cleaner to order pre-mixed concrete by the truck.

No. It gives you a rough volume so you can talk to a supplier. It does not price reinforcement, formwork, pump hire, prep or labour. For a real priced takeoff off your plans, send them through and we will do the full numbers.
